Tim DEKKER

Manager

is Dutch and a manager with Schuman. Tim works mainly in the area of Security&IT, the transport and publications sectors, combining the EU Funding and Policy areas. He is instrumental in supporting clients to target stakeholders outreach, business development strategies and positive partner positioning in the Brussels arena. Before joining Schuman in 2006, Tim worked for a Dutch NGO in the area of anti-terrorism legislation and human rights. His role included monitoring anti-terror policy making, initiating lobbying activities and representing the NGO at expert meetings. Tim also spent time in the Delegation of the European Commission to the United States, based in Washington DC where he worked in the Outreach Section and on Justice and Home Affairs matters, liaising with different US government branches and private sector agencies, promoting the EU and advising on EU law and rules. Tim holds a Masters in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam (NL) focusing on EU-US relations and foreign policies, and political economy issues. Tim speaks Dutch, English, French and some German.
