Broadband Competence Offices (BCOs): Easing Broadband roll-out for EU Regions and Cities
On 11 October, in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities, the BCO Support Facility organized a workshop to showcase good practices for broadband deployment from three European Regions.
Mr. Alfred Ruzicka, from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, Mr. Priit Soom, Director of EBF Broadband Federation (Estonia) and Ms. Sandra Lotti, from Emilia Romagna, in Italy shared three different regional approaches contributing to achieve the EU2020 connectivity goals.
Bruno Chauvin, Head of Unit in DG AGRI, moderated the session and highlighted the need of private and public stakeholders to be ambitious and work together to grant universal connectivity in underserved areas in Europe.
