A step forward to unlocking EU funding for R&D and human resources projects in Romania
Schuman Associates organized together with Euractiv Romania, two round table events in Bucharest, on EU funding for R&D (on the 19th of June 2015) and human resources development (on the 2nd of July 2015). The guest speaker of both events was Mr. Marius Nica, Minister of EU Funds. He was accompanied by the management of the relevant EU Programmes that support investment in the two areas: the managing authority of the Competitiveness Operational Programme, respectively the managing authority of the Human Capital Operational Programme.
Mr. Nica and his staff presented the opportunities of investment with EU Structural and Investment Funds 2014-2020 in the two sectors and engaged in an open dialogue with the audience mainly composed of private investors interested in growing their businesses with EU funding.
Under the Competitiveness Programme, Romania will allocate more than 950 million EUR to boost private investments in R&D, develop centres of excellence, strengthen the links between businesses and research institutions, and stimulate the creation of networks and clusters for developing new products and services.
At the same time, the Operational Programme Human Capital will provide support worth around 5 billion EUR (of which €4.3 billion from the EU budget) to help Romanians, including youngsters, find a job, improve their education and skills, reducing poverty and social exclusion, supporting better social services and labour market institutions.
For all EU funding opportunities available on the Romanian market, our colleagues in the Bucharest office look forward to getting in touch with you.
