SME Instrument, 44% budget increase for your projects in 2016

The objective of SME Instrument is to support around 2000 innovative SMEs in 2016 and 2017 to shape new markets, create growth, and achieve high return on investment on the global market.

The EU’s SME Instrument (financed from the Horizon 2020) addresses the financing needs of internationally oriented SMEs, in implementing high-risk and high-potential innovation ideas. It aims at supporting projects with a European dimension that lead to major changes in how business (product, processes, services, marketing etc.) is done.
ICT (Open Disruptive Innovation Scheme), intelligent transport and low carbon energy continue to be the biggest topics also in terms of budget allocation, whereas the budgets for sustainable food production, biotechnology and blue growth all have been more than doubled.
