What’s new for Horizon Europe post-2020?

Horizon Europe post-2020
By the beginning of 2021, the European institutions are expected to launch the new editions of some of their most well-known programmes: Horizon Europe (for Research and Innovation), Erasmus+ (for Education and Mobility), LIFE (for sustainability-related projects) and Digital Europe (for digitisation-related initiatives).

These EU programmes will launch calls for proposals for public and private entities and individuals to apply to on a regular basis in the next seven years, so early intelligence and positioning are essential.

To this end, Schuman Associates is launching a series capturing the latest information on the post-2020 re-launch of these programmes.

This week: what's the bottom line on the new Horizon Europe programme?

Starting next year, the EU's Research and Innovation framework programme, Horizon Europe, will feature a new mission-driven approach, a newly created European Innovation Council and an increased budget.

Calls for proposals will seek projects under six thematic clusters:

  1. Health
  2. Culture, creativity and inclusive society
  3. Civil security for society
  4. Digital, industry and space
  5. Climate, energy and mobility
  6. Food, bio-economy, natural resources, agriculture and environment
