Based in Brussels with more than 13 years’ experience in development issues and public affairs including 8 years’ lobbying experience in Brussels (EU funding and policy in Africa). He is President of RAES (NGO based in Dakar and working in 8 African countries using the media, the Web and mobile phones to provide exchanges that strengthen health, education and good citizenship in Africa http://www.ongraes.org/home.html). From 2004 to 2007 Thierno was managing director of PlaNet Finance in Senegal, an international microfinance group. He also worked in financial services for Eurostockcity in Paris, and for Archon France (Goldman Sachs). Thierno is a graduate in International Relations at Paris 1 Sorbonne University and in political science and International Law at Paris 2 Pantheon-Assas University. He also went on to the French elite school, École Nationale d'Administration (ENA, 2001-2003) and studied diplomacy in Académie diplomatique internationale in Paris. He speaks French, English, and Wolof.
