Constantinos Hadjiavvas

With 25 years of experience in shaping defence and security initiatives, Constantinos brings a wealth of knowledge to DIGITALEUROPE. His tenure at the European Defence Agency is marked by pioneering advancements in military capability development, defence energy transition, and climate resilience. He has led key EU-funded projects such as the Defence Energy Consultation Forum—Europe’s largest defence energy network.​

Previously, he excelled as a military and policy adviser at the Cyprus Ministries of Defence and Foreign Affairs, the Cyprus Permanent Representation to the EU, the African Union Mission in Sudan and the Cyprus National Guard. In these roles he developed extensive skills in decision-making, strategic foresight, and crisis management.​

A graduate and commissioned officer from the Hellenic Army Academy (BA in Military Science), Constantinos holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Cyprus (UCY), a Master’s in International Conflict Analysis from King’s College London, a Bachelor’s in Political Science with a minor in Sociology (UCY), and an advanced degree from the European Security and Defence College (ESDC). His contributions to prominent European and international forums and publications underscore his impact and expertise in defence resilience.
