Oliver Cusworth is a Senior Policy Advisor working in the Security and Defence Office at the European Investment Bank (EIB), with a focus on defence policy, security financing and European defence industrial issues. He contributes to developing and advising on policies related to the financing of defence, dual-use technologies, and broader security investment strategies, and worked on the EIB’s Strategic Security Initiative (SESI) in 2022 and its new Defence Action Plan in 2025.
Mr Cusworth regularly represents the EIB in high-level discussions and expert panels on defence finance and European security ecosystem development, where he offers insights on defence and security financing within Europe, including policy engagement with EU institutions, and investment frameworks for defence-related infrastructure and technologies.
Previously, Mr Cusworth worked at the EIB headquarters in Luxembourg and before that for the World Economic Forum in Geneva.
