EU and international funding for projects in Africa
On 31st of JanuarySchuman Associates and BEC Iorganized a lunch event ‘EU and international funding for projects in Africa’ attended by the Brussels infrastructure business club.
Infrastructure plays a key role in economic growth and poverty reduction.
Infrastructure investments in Africa are on the rise. Transport has always been a strong focal sector whilst investments in the energy sector are increasingly seen as a major priority. Water and sanitation are still high on the agenda mainly in the context of the Millenium Development Goals.
The objective of this presentation was to show main trends in infrastructure financing in Africa from the donors’ perspective and update on the steps preparing the 11th European Development Fund framework (period 2014-2020). Schuman Associates presented main findings from their latest study on the subject.
