Delivering the Union of Skills

The Union of Skills, announced at the EU Social Forum, marks a pivotal moment for Europe's skills agenda, providing a much-needed platform for stronger coordination and strategic investments in Europe's workforce.

To turn commitments into action, we must work together to close the skills gap, upskill the workforce, and strengthen Europe's competitiveness. As a key player in the European skills ecosystem, we know the importance of collaboration between social partners, employers, industries, and education providers is essential to equipping workers with the right skills for the jobs of today and tomorrow. 

• As Co-Chair of the Advisory Committee of the European Parliament Intergroup on the Future of Education and Skills for a Competitive Europe, we are ensuring that policy discussions reflect the realities of businesses, workers and educators. 
• The creation of the Intergroup itself was achieved through the work of the Schuman Associates Skills Coalition, through which we bring together 24 leading entities from across industries, education, and policy to drive forward meaningful solutions. 
• In parallel, we drive excellence in EU-funded projects on skills development, upskilling, and reskilling to prepare workers for the digital and green transitions.
• We fully support the work of the European High-Level Skills Board, which will guide Europe's response to evolving labour market needs.
