Schuman Associates supported DAAR Education Service from Nigeria in rolling out the event «PPP in achieving quality education for all» in the framework of The European Development Days 2013.

Jan Dröge, Partner at Schuman Associates, moderated the EU Sector Seminar “Water Supply and wastewater treatment in eu external aid instruments”, which took place on 21st November. The Seminar, organized by the UK Perm Rep will gather delegates from Permanent Representations, Trade Promotion Organizations from EU Member States and over 100 companies from private sector.  Key note speech was given by Mr. Fokion Fotiadis, Director General from DG DEVCO.

On 29 October Schuman Associates together with the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the international audit and accounting network BDO organised a Panel Discussion on Smart Regulation for SMEs, attended by Brussels based European business organisations, representatives of companies from around Europe, EU institutions and diplomats. The event focused on the impact of regulation to medium sized enterprises in Europe and possible ways to reduce regulatory burden.

On 26th November, Jan Dröge, Partner at Schuman Associates, will give a training on EU External Aid Programmes to the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce.

On 5th June Schuman Associates, which acts as a secretariat of AME – Anti Money Laundering Europe, organised a lunch seminar at the European Parliament to discuss the European Commission’s proposed Directive on the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering and terrorist financing - the “4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive”.The event was hosted by Dutch MEP, Judith Sargentini, the rapporteur for the proposal.

19th March 2013 Schuman Associates coordinated Irish Aviation Authority's (IAA) 2012 Customer Care Annual Report. The main objective of the report is to use customer feedback as a key input to improve performance so that IAA can deliver a more efficient service to clients.

Schuman Associates gave an overview on EU funding in Africa at the recent seminar of Brussels Enterprises Commerce and Industry. The objective of this presentation was to show the priorities and challenges of the EU for financing infrastructure projects in Africa and how to grow business and benefit from EU opportunities.

On 3rd December, Schuman Associates as secretariat of Anti Money Laundering Europe organised a lunch seminar hosted by MEP Timothy Kirkhope at the European Parliament. The event was a great success as it developed into an informal trialogue meeting over the upcoming 4^thAnti-Money Laundering Directive.

On 13 November, the Nickel Institute and the Surface Engineering Association organised a breakfast briefing with the support of Schuman Associates on the topic of "EU 2020 and Industrial Competitiveness: SMEs in the Surface Engineering Sector" in the European Parliament in Brussels.
